Welcome to real life...

I have been learning that real life is much harder than I thought. Dang, what a let down. It seems like for every 1 fantastic thing that happens, 300,000,000 annoying things happen. For example, Stan go an internship with an attorney on Thursday (so exciting!) and then right after my computer took it's last breath. I swear, my days lately are so up-and-down it's going to drive me mad! It's a good thing that Stan is there to soften the blows because I just might loose my mind one of these days.
So after complaining, it makes me realize that there is so much fantastic in my life. Stan go an internship, we got day-of tickets to Harry Potter 7 from NUSKIN, some kid in my group at school that never does any work insisted that he do the group test on his own (not fair, but such a relief for me!), our Christmas tree is cute, Stan got a new sweet phone and I got the boots I have been coveting for forever and best of all, WE HAVE CENTRAL HEATING IN OUR HOUSE!
Life is good in our neck of the woods.

Hello Nature... have we met?

So between Stan and I either being at work or school, we have tried to fit in a little fun here and there. We went on a hike to dog lake and doughnut falls a few weeks ago and had a blast. I have never been much of a "hard work in the outdoors" kinda girl, but I think I've figured out that if I don't have to sleep in the wild, I'm fine! I'm not sayin' nature and I will ever be B.F.F.'s, but we are slowly becoming acquaintances.

Just a few days ago Stan and I went with our friends Branson and Shelly to the Nickle-Cade. Who knew that Vegas carpet, pet store smell and cheap gifts could be so much fun! Our favorite had to be the Deal-Or-No-Deal game. It was so stressful and we were only playing for tickets! Unfortunately that game took 8 nickels and not one of us won more than 20 tickets. At least we weren't playing for money! Stan and I will be visiting the Nickle-Cade again soon. Such a fun date for only $7.99. We are still fighting over the yo-yo squishy ball that we bought with our tickets...

We made it!

It's been a year since we were married and we haven't killed each other yet! I count that as a major success. Stan and I have had such a fun first year with lots of adventures and LOTS of moving! I was thinking the other day about how much we actually moved... 3 times in one year... I hope year two offers a little more stability. We've been dirt poor, and surprisingly we have enjoyed every minute (Everyone who knows us know that being happy being poor is something no one ever saw coming). It's funny how you can be so happy with basically only the bare essentials. Our finances are looking up so that is a nice way to end our first year. With all the moving, I'm proud to say that we finally bumped up our living conditions from the hobbit hole to above ground comfort. Oh the pleasure of walking upstairs to your front door instead of down! Such an exciting year. To celebrate we went to breakfast, my choice... IHOP. Don't even think about mocking me until you've tried the cream cheese stuffed french toast, DIVINE. I can't say Stan looked too excited, but what he's learned most in our first year is not to argue with me... I always win! :) Stan is off at work and my plan is to make a delicious dinner he never saw coming. I'm taking baby steps in my culinary abilities but steps none the less! Maybe in our second year I'll magically become an excellent cook... I can dream can't I.

So I am back. This blog began as a homework assignment, but i have decided to transform it into my new personal project. We'll see how this goes. I am trying to throw myself into the media to better understand what it's all about. Hope i follow through!
